Should Fix, I mean Fox News be sued?
After various cases of Fox news utlilzing footage that is out right fraudulent when reporting so called news stories, is it time for the American people to sue Fox news for confusion of the public?
There are laws on the books that prohibit confusion of the public and for good reason, it is to keep companies from using misleading and out right fraudulent information to promote their products.
For example, McDonald's was forced by law to stop saying 100% all beef patties in their commercials and advertisements because the fact was their patties were NOT 100% all, beef, in fact most of the patty was made from Soy bean, the reason they stated 100% all beef patties was because the patty company owned by McDonald's corporate was called 100% All Beef. This was a great marketing tactic and was successful for many years; however, it was confusion of the public and just plain not true!
Now, Taco Bell is in the same hot water McDonald's was in in a similiar lawsuit by an Alabama firm claiming that Taco Bell has less than 35% beef in it's tacos, whether or not the facts in this care are true are yet to be seen.
The point being is that Fox News network is not all news. Not all news you say? Yes, the fact is that only a small portion is classified as newsand many of the popular shows such as Glenn Beck and Bill O'reilly are classified as opinion, NOT news. So here is my proposal, We should sue Fox news for confusion of the public and demand that Fox remove all opinion shows from the Fox news network and use the name it legally should, Fox opinion network.
This would remove the confusion and allow the american people to know that this is NOT a news show but rather an opinion show and that actual news must be viewed on the news network and that this opinion should not be considered news.
The problem with this type of action is that it would cost a substantial amount of money and would need as many people involved to become part of the class action suit against Fox News..
So here is the question.
Should the American people sue Fox news?
